Job Scope:

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the scope of this position involves directing the production team to achieve standards related to cost, line efficiencies, waste, safety and productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the production staff, including planning workload and staffing schedules
  • Participate in various employee relations matters, such as hiring, training and disciplinary processes
  • Maintain production PM programs, generate daily operating reports, as well as weekly production map

Qualifications:

  • Solid knowledge of GMPs, including excellent sanitary habits and a strong understanding of HACCP and MSS as it applies to a food manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with CIP systems and UHT &/or HTST processing

Job Scope:

Qualifications:

Job Scope:

Job Scope:

Reporting to the Supply Chain Planning Manager, this position is responsible for planning the volume of production at our Guelph facility to meet our customers demand. Candidates for this full-time position are required with the following qualifications and will perform the duties listed below.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and prepare production schedules for the manufacture of products by SKU.
  • Draw up master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation.
  • Meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders.
  • Utilize production specifications and plant capacity data to plan require production volumes while maximizing efficiencies in the plants.
  • Communicate with the demand forecaster, customer service, distribution, sales and marketing staff and some customers to best determine customer’s demand and schedule production to meet the demand.
  • Utilize the Warehouse Management System to determine inventory levels, demand forecast, shelf life of product and shipping information to assist in the calculation of production volumes.
  • Manage inventory volumes to provide the best possible shelf life to our customers.
  • Confer with plant supervisors to determine status of production.
  • Expedite operations that delay schedules and alter schedules accordingly to meet unforeseen conditions.
  • Communicate production schedules to procurement and warehousing to ensure sufficient packaging and raw materials are available for future production.
  • (May) prepare purchase orders to obtain such products that are co-packaged by other manufactures for Gay Lea Foods.
  • Occasional travel to our Guelph and Teeswater plants may be required.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years’ experience in production control, planning, inventory control and/or materials in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Post-secondary education with a Supply Chain focus or equivalent experience.
  • Proficient in Supply Chain concepts (safety stock planning, MRP calculations, scheduling constraints and bottlenecks, etc.).
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft office applications (Excel).

  • Conduct Clean in Place (CIP) and sanitize the tanks, silos and line circuits including housekeeping of the milk receiving and blending area

  • Conduct visual inspection of incoming bulk tankers to ensure they are clean and free of debris that may cause contamination
