Job Scope:

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor will oversee and be responsible for the effective, efficient and safe operation of the Production departments. The successful incumbent will also support and participate with the Production Management Team to focus on continuously improving processes and efficiencies within the operation. This job will be primarily assigned to the night shift. There may be some scheduled rotation onto the Day and Night shifts based on Operational needs, but the primary focus of this position is on the night Shift.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the overall effectiveness of the plant operations during assigned shift; this is a ‘hands-on’ position that directly supervises all shift staff, including training, planning workloads, developing production schedules and disciplining where required. Emphasis is on time spent on the floor directly supervising to meet organization goals.
  • Work closely with the production staff in the areas of sanitation, hygiene, GMP's and other necessary quality-related training
  • Work towards Process Excellence & Lean Manufacturing endeavors of the organization
  • Responsible for authorizing and monitoring employees' time, attendance and payroll information
  • Maintain Production PM Programs, generated daily operating, efficiency reports as well as daily/weekly production mapping
  • Validate all production records and CIP records
  • Develop a co-operative team approach in the Production Department and work closely with Production Planners, Finance, Maintenance, Human Resources, Quality and Plant Management
  • Champion and enforce Health & Safety, proactive approach to prevent accidents in the plant. Member of the JHSC
  • Provide flexible shift coverage including nights and weekend coverage on a rotational basis. Willingness to work overtime as required
  • Train operators on all changes in the Food Safety and Quality system as communicated by Management and QA

Qualifications:

  • University degree or College Diploma preferably majoring in Science, Engineering or Business.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in a HACCP and SQF regulated consumer packaged goods manufacturing environment is required. Food industry preferred, and knowledge of pasteurization equipment considered an asset.
  • Minimum three (3) years of hands-on supervisory experience is required.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Solid analytical skills with knowledge of process improvement techniques

Job Scope:

Reporting to the Customer Service Manager, the Customer Service Supervisor is tasked with ensuring that the daily customer order management process is executed daily. This will be accomplished by performing critical verification and reconciliation steps through internal reporting and auditing. This role is also responsible for monitoring customer services processes to ensure SOPs are being followed by all team members and identifying process improvements to minimize errors and process gaps.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Directly responsible and accountable for the Customer Service Representatives and managing their day-to-day activities.
  • Act as a D365 Super User, assisting CSRs as front-line support with any system/data input issues they encounter. Escalate system issues to CS Manager and/or Data Integrity team as required.

Maintenance Manager

Job Scope:

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the scope of this position involves the responsibility of safe and efficient operation and repair of all plant equipment, as well as the maintenance of plant equipment and plant infrastructure. Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to safely maintain all mechanical and electrical systems, all machinery and refrigeration systems
  • Provide leadership to the Maintenance Supervisor, Skilled Trades employees, and programs to support the efficient operations of the two facilities
  • Direct and lead the Maintenance team in scheduling, preventative maintenance and repair of all production equipment within the plants
  • Work planning and coordination of all skilled trades within the plant on a 24/7 basis (this includes Operating Engineers, Millwrights and Electricians)

  • Oversee the safe and efficient operation of all utilities (Steam Boilers, Refrigeration, Cooling Tower, Air Compressors, HVAC, etc.) within the plants, working with the Chief Operating Engineer and Operating Engineers who are responsible for maintaining on a daily basis.
  • Coordinate with all outside contractors and ensure that work is completed in a safe manner that complies with all necessary manufacturing codes, regulations and standards i.e. H&SE, GMPs, HACCP, WHMIS, MSDS

Job Scope:

Reporting to the Manager, Operations, the Maintenance Technician – Millwright is responsible for the preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of all equipment and machinery at the Teeswater facility including refrigeration, waste water systems, steam boiler, building maintenance and other duties as required.

  • Operation and maintenance of all refrigeration/boiler/HVAC equipment
  • Maintain/monitor/check all equipment

Job Scope:

Reporting to the Production Manager, the scope of the Production Supervisor involves leading your production team to achieve standards related to cost, line efficiencies, waste, safety, and productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the production staff, including planning workload and staffing schedules
  • Communicate with planning for effective and efficient scheduling of production
  • Participate in various employee relations matters, such as hiring, training and disciplinary processes
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of packaging, labels and raw ingredients
  • Generate daily operating reports, as well as weekly production map
  • Ensure line efficiencies and maintain product quality
  • Ensure and maintain quality and safety standards within the plant
  • Train operators on all changes in the Food Safety & Quality system as communicated by Management and QA
  • Interact with maintenance and other supervisory staff or management regarding any production issues
  • Complete documentation of GMPs, H&S and HACCP related items
  • Food Safety & Quality responsibility as outlined in SOPs & other training materials provided and accurate record keeping
  • Attend prescribed courses/training
  • Other duties as assigned by Management

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years' post secondary education, Degree in Food Science preferred
  • At least 3 years' supervisory experience in a HACCP regulated dairy, food or beverage processing environment
  • Solid knowledge of GMPs, including excellent sanitary habits and a strong understanding of HACCP and MSS as it applies to a food manufacturing environment
  • Familiar with total quality management and continuous improvement processes
  • Good decision-making and problem-solving capabilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
  • Proficient computer abilities using Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task
  • Physically capable of performing the demands of the job
  • Must be punctual and diligent
  • Computer skills and experience working with automated machinery
