Job Scope:

Reporting to the Quality Control Supervisor, the Quality Control Co-ordinator is responsible for ensuring the production and quality processes and procedures meet superior food safety systems (HACCP and SQF) standards from entry of raw materials into the facility, to the processing of goods, to shipment of finished product.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the QC Supervisor with investigation of process deviations and complaints
  • Ensure that all internal and external corrective action requests are satisfactorily completed within designated time frame.  Tracking maintained up to date.
  • Perform monthly plant inspections, report findings and track corrective actions.
  • Work closely with the production and distribution staff to ensure standard operating procedures, production forms and matrices are reviewed and updated as per program requirements
  • Produce reports and computer data entry of various information for the purpose of maintaining accurate records
  • Work co-operatively with the QC Supervisor to ensure that laboratory schedules are issued weekly and staffing reflects production requirements
  • Responsible to maintain the Quality System and SQF code in the plant.
  • Maintain a co-operative team approach between production, distribution and quality control departments by ensuring a close working relationship at all times
  • Fill in vacation coverage for lab technicians as required
  • Responsible to train operators on all changes to the Food Safety & Quality system as communicated by Management and QA.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in the food industry
  • Bachelor of Science Degree or Diploma in Microbiology or Food Science
  • Knowledge of HACCP, SQF, GMPs and Food Security
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and problem solving skills
  • Solid analytical skills and process improvement driven
  • Strong computer skills, including Windows and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Adaptable and flexible to work overtime hours when required

Working Environment:

General office and lab conditions, with frequent periods spent in manufacturing facility. Frequent business travel. Occasional exposure to hazardous materials (auto clave), chemical substances and bio-hazardous bacteria.

Physical Demands:

Infrequent climbing of stairs and lifting of materials to a maximum of 20 kg. Standing for a continuous length of time. Sitting and walking for a moderate length of time.

Machine Operator 1

Job Scope:

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, this position operates Filling / Packaging equipment, including the new Creamer Filler, as well as provides relief coverage in other areas of the plant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate Filling Machine in the Packaging department
  • Ensure integrity of seal, product and weight
  • Lead order run and verify quantity
  • Monitor and perform routine checks of systems to ensure lines are running smoothly
  • Conduct daily Clean In Place (CIP) washes of systems.
  • Interact with maintenance and supervisory staff regarding any production issues
  • Complete documentation of GMPs, MSS and HACCP related items
  • Maintain accurate and detailed packaging records and perform line checks as required
  • Cross-train to learn how to use equipment and machinery in various areas of the plant
  • Provide relief coverage for other machine operators/plant helpers
  • Food Safety & Quality responsibility as outlined in SOPs & other training materials provided and accurate record keeping

Qualifications:

  • Minimum high school diploma and/or relevant dairy experience
  • Demonstrated safe work habits within a manufacturing environment, and knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)
  • Applied knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), including excellent sanitary habits is required, and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP)
  • Minimum 2 years of machine operating experience, preferably in a food or beverage environment
  • Experience with Clean In Place (CIP), Aseptic, and Extended Shelf Life (ESL) packaging preferred
  • Mechanical aptitude and trouble shooting ability
  • Good communication/interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a team
  • Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task
  • Physically capable of performing the demands of the job

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the scope of this position is responsible for performing general plant duties in various departments, including the new Creamer Filler.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general plant duties safely, including hand packing product, palletizing cases, moving skids, etc.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • Provide weekend coverage as required based on production volumes
  • Ensure Food Safety & Quality, as outlined in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and other training materials provided
  • Complete and maintain accurate records

Job Scope:

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the scope of this position includes working with the Bulk Hauling team to ensure smooth movement of products within plant, to inter-company and external customers, scheduling driver hours, optimizing routes, truck maintenance, statistical reporting and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, monitor and schedule drivers to meet ongoing business requirements in a continually changing environment while ensuring the most efficient and cost effective means.
  • Work with lease providers to schedule routine maintenance and arrange for repairs when necessary while reducing downtime.
  • Compile data to optimize the use of resources; fuel, labour, etc. and identify cost saving opportunities.
  • Assist in loading and offloading of trucks if needed.
  • Food Safety & Quality responsibility as outlined in SOPs & other training materials provided and accurate record keeping.
  • Attend prescribed courses and training as required

Qualifications:

  • Valid Ontario Driver’s License with "AZ" or “DZ” classification: “A” or “D” licence, "Z" Airbrake Endorsement – clean drivers abstract
  • Valid Milk Graders license
  • 2 to 3 years’ experience in the transportation field (DSD and Freight Management), preferably  food industry, dairy industry would be an asset
  • Strong troubleshooting ability and results driven
  • Familiar with continuous improvement processes and methodologies also considered an asset
  • Knowledge of HACCP
  • Accurate when working with calculations
  • Knowledge of GMPs
  • Previous experience scheduling shifts preferred
  • Previous experience scheduling truck maintenance and repairs
  • Strong organizational skills and an ability to effectively manage multiple changing priorities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct CIP and sanitize the tanks, silos and line circuits including housekeeping of the Milk Receiving & Blending section
  • Blend product according to formulations and complete necessary documentation
  • Receive and unload milk and cream shipments
  • Troubleshoot in a fast-paced environment
  • Work closely with R O Operators, Lead Hands, Milk Truck Drivers as well as Maintenance and Quality Control staff

Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years experience in a HACCP regulated dairy, beverage or food processing environment
  • Familiarity with GMP’s, CIP systems and Milk Receiving processes
  • Hands on skills using automated processing equipment; mathematical abilities; and the physical ability to work in a Multi Tasking, warm, humid environment
  • Minimum Grade 12 education with relevant dairy experience
  • AZ license

Reporting to the Distribution Supervisor, the scope of this full time, various shift positions which involves the loading and unloading trucks and the safe operation of lift trucks.   • Work as part of a team to warehouse product off packaging lines
