Spooner's Protein Power Play Smoothie

World Champion & Olympian Natalie Spooner’s go-to Protein Power Play Smoothie is made with Nordica 2% cottage cheese. It’s quick, delicious, and packed with protein to keep her fueled on and off the ice!

  • Yields: 1 serving
  • Preparation: 5 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (250mL) Nordica 2%
  • 2 cups (500mL) mixed berries, fresh or frozen
  • 1 banana, ripe
  • 1/2 cup (125mL) 3% milk, or another preferred milk
  • 1/2 cup (125mL) water, approx.

Optional

  • 2 tbsp (30mL) blueberry jam, or other fruit jam
  • 2 - 4 tsp (10 - 20 mL) maple syrup, or honey

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients to a blender.
  2. Blend until smooth, about 45 seconds. Scrape down the sides of the blender and adjust thickness with a few tablespoons of extra water as needed.
  3. Taste and adjust sweetness with jam as desired. Serve immediately.
  • TIP: Add 30 ml (2 tbsp) of blueberry or other fruit jam
  • TIP: Add 10-20 ml (2-4 tsp) of maple syrup or honey for extra sweetness
  • TIP: Replace Spooner’s family-friendly choice of 3% milk with your preferred milk
  • TIP: Mixed Berries: blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, and blackberries
