Job Scope:

Reporting to the Director of Operations Finance, the scope of this position involves assisting with all accounting responsibilities associated with providing the standard costing, month-end closing and financial reporting for the Clayson and Brisbane manufacturing plants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and processing of journal entries for month-end closing as required
  • Assist in preparation of finance and management reports and P/L variance analysis
  • Processing Accounts Payable Invoices after departmental authorization.
  • Provide assistance to complete the PPV analysis at month end
  • Perform monthly reconciliation and analysis on COGS accounts
  • Monthly adjustment of Non-WMS items and Bulk chemical inventory.
  • Monthly reconciliation for confirmation of Inter-plant Transfer order transactions and BF balancing adjustment in DAX.
  • Regular clearing of White Mass production orders and floor stock and analysis
  • of unusual favorable or unfavorable variances.
  • Review accuracy of manual file of incoming and outgoing loads for inter-plant and outside customer to ensure accurate billing.
  • Perform balancing the milk consumptions DFO vs. DAX during the vacation time.
  • Provide prompt and courteous reception services including greeting and receiving visitors, proper sign-in and registration during occasional time (back up)
  • Manual compilation of monthly Milk utilization report.
  • Other duties and projects assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education and working towards a CPA designation.
  • Minimum of 2 years accounting experience within a CPG or food environment, strong cost accounting background a definite asset.

Inventory Supervisor

Job Scope:

Reporting to the Director of Distribution, the Inventory Supervisor is responsible for the initiation and maintenance of inventory controls, policies, standard procedures, and systems to achieve accurate financial inventory information. This is accomplished through a team of shipper/receivers who are responsible for executing inventory related functions in the warehouses, as well as a comprehensive analysis of inventory transactions to identify problems and recommend solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team at the Brampton DC to reconcile, audit, and complete inventory related tasks for day-to-day operations
  • Liaise with Finance, Customer Service, Planning, Operations teams to address inventory related problems
  • Work with Regional Manager for Inventory all sites outside of Brampton
  • Develop and roll out strategies on inventory related issues for the business
  • Reconcile WMS counts to production counts and WMS transfer IN/OUTS
  • Reconcile item conversions in Outside Warehouse as well as inventory with third party locations
  • Maintain monthly inventory rotation reports and reconcile Internal Hold due to Cycle Counts

Job Scope:

  • Operation and maintenance of all refrigeration/boiler/HVAC equipment
  • Repair and maintenance of pasteurizing, separating, and dryer process systems, packaging systems common to a dairy operation
  • Coordinate with necessary contractual and inspection departments for adherence to regulatory and company requirements

  • Collaborate with internal and external customers to perform day to day scheduling of interplant shipments; Adapting to last minute changes including the addition and cancelation of loads
  • Scheduling drivers and routes for bovine and goat milk pick-up in accordance with Ministry of Transportation limits, DFO, OMTA and Dairy Goat hauling protocols

Job Scope:

Gay Lea Foods is currently looking for a bilingual customer service representative to join us in delivering exceptional customer service experiences to our clients. If you enjoy interacting with people, have a passion for customer service, and strive for personal and team success, this may be the role is for you! The ideal candidate will reside in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, or Newfoundland and Labrador. The CSR will work from home with very infrequent travel to our corporate office in Toronto, Canada.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise and bridge daily communication in French and English, between internal departments (Sales, Supply Chain and Finance) and external partners in operational matters to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products.
  • Manage all orders within your client portfolio and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Provide support to Key Account team members as required.
  • Proactively resolve issues that threaten service levels.
  • Ensure and exhibit a professional attitude and demeanour to all who contact the company.
  • Issue return merchandise authorization numbers and/or return of products (credit processing) to eligible customers.
  • Respond to consumer enquiries as back-up to the consumer relations team, and complete associated tasks, including forwarding complaints with proper documentation to the respective Quality Control Supervisor, for their investigation and written response within 24 hours, making necessary arrangements to pick up complaint products for analysis.
  • Food Safety and Quality responsibility as outlined in SOPs and other training materials provided and accurate record keeping.
  • Other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent English and French verbal and written communication.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant Customer Service experience, in a fast-paced, Consumer Goods (CG) environment.
  • Post-secondary education completed.
  • Previous experience in the Food Processing Industry is a strong asset.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and excel in a team environment.
  • Self-starter and team player with strong interpersonal skills and flexibility.
  • Strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Demonstrated excellent Telephone/Communication/People skills, both written and verbal.

Job Scope:

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this position is accountable for contributing to various Operating Engineering and Maintenance tasks at the division. This position will maintain the life of equipment, minimize downtime, and ensure the safe and efficient operations of the plant. Team members are required with the following qualifications and will perform the duties listed below.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and operate boilers, air compressors, ammonia refrigeration, water chillers, cooling tower, air compressors, and building facilities at Longlife
  • Troubleshoot and maintain processing equipment such as UHT, VTIS, Pasteurizer, Silos, AST tanks, valves and pumps
  • Maintain and troubleshoot bag and carton fillers and high-speed packaging equipment
  • Responsible to maintain all mechanical and electrical systems, all machinery at the facility
  • Coordinate with Production, Maintenance and outside contractors and ensure that work is completed in a safe manner that complies with all necessary manufacturing codes, regulations and standards i.e. H&S, GMP’s, HACCP, WHMIS, MSDS etc.
  • Communicate daily Engineering Activities with Chief Engineer and update all daily engineering logs
  • Improve and maintain existing PM systems
  • Ensure that required parts are ordered
  • Identify opportunities and make recommendations to continuously improve maintenance operations and efficiencies
  • Food Safety & Quality responsibility as outlined in SOPs & other training materials provided and accurate record keeping
  • Attend prescribed courses and training as required
  • Other projects as assigned by Plant Management.

Qualifications:

  • Must have: a valid TSSA 3rd Class Operating Engineer Certificate
  • Industrial Millwright and/or Electrician License an asset.
  • Well experienced to maintain and operate Steam Boilers, Air Compressors, Ammonia Refrigeration
  • Proven ability to maintain and repair various packaging and processing equipment
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and a positive, solutions-oriented team player
  • Dedicated to safety and process excellence
  • A strong background in HACCP and GMP’s would be an asset
  • Minimum 3 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably food industry, dairy industry would be an asset
  • Must display excellent sanitary habits and possess knowledge of HACCP
  • Strong preventative maintenance and troubleshooting ability
  • Solid knowledge of high-speed filling and packaging lines and PLCs
  • Knowledge of GMPs, including
  • Familiar with continuous improvement processes and methodologies considered an asset
  • Good communication skills, including written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Must be flexible in terms of shift work and perform other duties as required

Regular interruptions and exposure to noise. Occasional exposure to dust, extreme temperatures, odour, humidity, dry conditions, chemical substances, heights, hazardous machines and moving objects.

Standing, walking, and sitting for a considerable length of time. Crouching, working in confined spaces, climbing stairs and working in awkward positions at moderate lengths of time. Regular climbing of stairs (there are 22 stairs from the production floor to the lunch and rest rooms, as well as the office areas).

Job Scope:

Reporting to the Operations Manager, Teeswater, the scope of this position involves the responsibility of safe and efficient operation and electromechanical repairs of all plant equipment, as well as the maintenance of the plant infrastructure. This position is responsible for leading and supporting the maintenance staff with a special focus on continuously improving processes and efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and lead the Maintenance team in scheduling, preventative maintenance and the safe and efficient operation and repair of all plant production equipment (processing, packaging, office)
  • Oversee the safe and efficient operation of all utilities (Steam Boilers, refrigeration, cooling tower, air compressors, HVAC, etc)
  • Improve and maintain preventative and predictive maintenance systems
  • Identify opportunities and make recommendations to continuously improve maintenance operations and efficiencies

Qualifications:

  • Completion of post-secondary education in mechanical or engineering technology (diploma or degree), program
  • Certificate of Qualification as a Millwright and/or Electrician license
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ supervisory/management position; preferably within the dairy industry
  • Proven, hands on success with preventative and predictive maintenance systems
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, including PLC programming
  • Progressive approach to maintenance and process improvement driven
  • Computer skills – experience with MP2, MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Must have a good understanding of the scheduling requirements for the production departments, and to be able to co-ordinate the maintenance and repair activities
