Hearty Lunch
Mozza Pita-Calzone
If the kids like pizza, they're going to love a Pita Calzone. Try this recipe using pita breads and lots of fresh vegetables.
Preparation Time:

Ingredients:
| 4 | pita breads | |
| 8 tbsp | tomato sauce | 120 mL |
| 4 | slices of ham, cut into small pieces | |
| 1 cup | finely sliced Canadian Mozzarella cheese | 250 mL |
| 1 tbsp | butter | 15 mL |
| 1 | small onion, chopped | |
| 1/2 | green pepper, chopped | |
| 1/2 | red pepper, chopped | |
| 1/2 cup | sliced mushrooms | 125 mL |
| salt and pepper to taste | ||
| Pinch of oregano |
Instructions:
Finely slice all the vegetables. Melt the butter in a skillet and lightly cook the vegetables (approximately 1 minutes) until soft. Add a pinch of oregano, salt and pepper and mix well. Remove from heat and allow to cool. Spread the tomato sauce over the pita breads. On the first half of each, spread the ham slices, the vegetables and the Mozzarella slices. Fold the other half across and hold in place with a toothpick.
Serve warm or cold.
