Cranberry Scones

Enjoy these versatile scones at breakfast, brunch or with your afternoon tea.

Cranberry Scones

Ingredients:
1 cupLacteeze 1%, 2% or Skim milk250 mL
1 tbsplemon juice15 mL
2 1/4 cupsall-purpose flour550 mL
2 1/2tsp baking powder12 mL
1/2 tspbaking soda2 mL
1/2 tspsalt2 mL
1/2 cupGay Lea Butter125 mL
1/2 cupdried cranberries125 mL


Instructions:
Add lemon juice to milk and let stand 15 minutes. Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Add butter and cut into flour with pastry blender until the texture of coarse meal. Stir in dried cranberries. Stir in milk to moisten dry ingredients. Roll out on floured surface to 1/2" /1 cm thickness. Cut into 2"/5 cm rounds or squares. Sprinkle with granulated sugar. Bake at 425ºF (220ºC) for 12-15 minutes.Makes 12 scones.  Baking time: 12-15 minutes.
