Key Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

  • University degree in business (preferably with marketing focus)
  • 5+ years’ experience in a strategic marketing role within packaged goods, food or grocery channel
  • Advanced computer skills required, including MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other MS applications
  • Experience working with business tools including Nielsen, D365 an asset
  • Self motivated with high energy, ability to multi-task and execute multiple projects on time and on budget

Supply Chain Planner

Job Scope:

Reporting to the Supply Chain Planning Manager, this position is responsible for planning the volume of production at our Hamilton facility to meet our customers demand. Candidates for this full-time position are required with the following qualifications and will perform the duties listed below.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and prepare production schedules for the manufacture of products by SKU.
  • Draw up master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation.
  • Meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders.
  • Utilize production specifications and plant capacity data to plan require production volumes while maximizing efficiencies in the plants.
  • Communicate with the demand forecaster, customer service, distribution, sales and marketing staff and some customers to best determine customer’s demand and schedule production to meet the demand.
  • Utilize the Warehouse Management System to determine inventory levels, demand forecast, shelf life of product and shipping information to assist in the calculation of production volumes.
  • Manage inventory volumes to provide the best possible shelf life to our customers.
  • Confer with plant supervisors to determine status of production.
  • Expedite operations that delay schedules and alter schedules accordingly to meet unforeseen conditions.
  • Communicate production schedules to procurement and warehousing to ensure sufficient packaging and raw materials are available for future production.
  • (May) prepare purchase orders to obtain such products that are co-packaged by other manufactures for Gay Lea Foods.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years’ experience in production control, planning, inventory control and/or materials in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Post-secondary education with a Supply Chain focus or equivalent experience.
  • Proficient in Supply Chain concepts (safety stock planning, MRP calculations, scheduling constraints and bottlenecks, etc.).
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft office applications (Excel).
  • Lean/Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with JDA software or Microsoft Dynamics AX are considered great assets.
  • Demonstrated ability to challenge status quo, influence and drive change and results.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to multitask and work to deadlines.

Logistics Coordinator

Reporting to the Transportation Supervisor, the Logistics Co-ordinator is responsible for dispatching, route planning, labor planning, and coordinating shipments with both own carrier base and 3pl within the Canadian network.

The successful incumbent will partner closely with operations, sales, marketing and other functions across the business to provide technical knowledge needed to develop ingredient manufacturing and support the industrial sales strategies, new partnerships and effective utilization of ingredients within the Company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for delivering the development projects and activities including, optimization and cost reduction initiatives • Work closely with customers in developing solutions to fulfill their ingredient requirements • Generate and maintain raw material and finished product documentation, primarily focusing on dairy powder ingredients • Subject Matter Expert (SME) of manufacturing processes, ingredients and formulations • Design and conduct internal sensory evaluation tests, accurately analyze products as required and report results • Provide technical support and expertise relating to product quality • Collaborate and align with key stakeholders (i.e. Operations, Sales & Marketing, Supply Chain) • Work closely with the Sales (international and domestic) & Marketing teams on activities such as focus groups, new idea generation and evaluation of market trends • Partner with Procurement to align specification and quality of incoming ingredients • Travel approximately 25-30% (primarily within Ontario however some travel throughout Canada and North America)

Accounts Payable Coordinator

Job Scope:

As an integral part of the Finance department, the Accounts Payable Coordinator reports to the Accounts Payable Supervisor. This position is primarily responsible for the administration of various accounts payable duties, such as posting vendor invoices and staff expenses, the matching, filing and mailing of vendor invoices, reconciliation of vendor accounts and other ad hoc duties as required.

  • Act as point of contact for vendors, responding to inquiries and resolving discrepancies to ensure invoices are paid on a timely basis.
  • Record monthly accruals.
  • Maintain and file documentation, which include invoices, receipts, vendor banking information, vendor credit applications and other documents as required.
  • Analyze and reconcile vendor statements and manage vendor aging.
  • Undertake other duties or ad hoc projects as required, such as general ledger reconciliation and general journal postings.

Qualifications:

  • College diploma or university degree in the field of business with a specialization in accounting preferred.
  • 3+ years prior accounts payable experience in a high-volume environment.
  • Knowledge of Accounts Payable best practices, standard concepts, policies and procedures.
  • Superior working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, etc.) and Microsoft Sharepoint.
  • Experience using computerized accounting software. Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics will be considered an asset.

Job Scope:

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the scope of the position involves the maintenance of all property and equipment at the facility including mechanical and electrical repairs. This position will maintain the life of the equipment, minimize downtime, and ensure the safe and efficient operations of the plant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative maintenance for all packaging and production equipment as well as services and utilities.
  • Maintain the life of the equipment and minimize downtime.
  • Repair all plant production equipment as required.
  • Ensure the safe and efficient operations of the plant.
  • Communicate with the rest of the maintenance team and plant personnel when resolving problems.
  • Coordinate with al outside contractors and ensure that work is completed in a safe manner that complies with all manufacturing codes, regulations.
  • Identify opportunities and make recommendations to continuously improve maintenance operations and efficiencies.
  • Liaison with Maintenance Coordinator to help ensure parts are ordered, organized and stocked.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years maintenance experience with in the food industry, preferably dairy.
  • Must possess an Ontario and/or Interprovincial Certificate of Qualification as an Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) – 433A license required.
  • Knowledge of GMP’s and HACCP.
  • Strong preventative maintenance and troubleshooting ability.
  • Solid knowledge of highspeed filling and packaging lines and PLC’s.
  • Refrigeration “B” license and boiler experience would be an asset.
  • Familiar with continuous improvement processes and methodologies would be an asset.
  • Strong working knowledge of plumbing, welding and machining.
  • Good communication skills, including written and verbal.
