Gay Lea Welcomes Ivanhoe Cheese to the Family


Gay Lea is proud to announce the acquisition of Ivanhoe Cheese.


Started in 1870, Ivanhoe is the oldest cheese maker in Canada. The plant, located in Madoc, Ontario (north of Belleville) makes aged cheese for export and for the domestic market. They have a unique process cheese and premium quality cheese sauces and their strength lies in specialty cheeses, for the foodservice and ingredients markets.


The acquisition which took place on July 25, 2008 is an exciting move for both Gay Lea and Ivanhoe.
