Roast Beef and Horseradish Grilled Cheese

(Roast Beef and Horseradish)

Preparation time: 15 minutes

Simply put, this is one of the most satisfying sandwiches you?ll ever eat. For extra ease, buy already sliced Cheddar. Mayonnaise can easily be used to replace the horseradish.

Roast Beef and Horseradish Grilled Cheese

Ingredients:
8slices Country white or whole wheat bread, 1/4-inch (5 mm) thick8
2 tbspdrained prepared white horseradish25 mL
4large slices rare roast beef4
8slices Old Cheddar Cheese8
4lettuce leaves4
1/4 cupGay Lea Spreadable Butter50 mL


Instructions:

Place 4 slices of bread on work surface. Spread horseradish evenly over top.  Top each with one slice of cheese, slice of roast beef and lettuce leaf. Top with remaining cheese and bread.  Spread half of butter over top of bread.
 
Place sandwiches, buttered side down, two at a time, in non-stick skillet set over medium heat. Spread half of remaining butter over top of bread. Cook for about 5 minutes or underside of bread is golden and cheese has started to melt. Flip sandwiches over; cook for 3 to 4 minutes longer or until underside is golden and cheese is melted.
 
Repeat with remaining sandwiches and butter.
 
Makes 4 sandwiches.
