Job Scope:

Reporting to the Director, Supply Chain Planning, this position is responsible for leading and executing the demand planning process by working collaboratively across multiple functional areas to create an operational demand plan. This position will also support plan the volume and provide schedules to the manufacturing facility, driving efficiency while ensuring that customer expectations are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create a forecast based on statistically generated base forecast and forward customer lift activity through sales intelligence and S&OP discussions.
  • Interface with sales team to ensure that demand signal is reflective of actual customer requirements.
  • Interface with customers to collaboratively develop demand signals and gain insights into customer orders and replenishment process; support knowledge sharing with customer base where appropriate.
  • Aid in the development and analysis of lift activity – pre and post event.
  • Analyze variances from planned demand, understand the root cause of variance and make adjustments as necessary.
  • Identify and summarize risks and opportunities to the sales forecast.
  • Plan and prepare production schedules for the manufacture of products by SKU.
  • Prepare purchase orders to obtain such products that are co-packaged by other manufactures for Gay Lea Foods.
  • Maintain and manage dry goods raw material inventory levels and order as appropriate.
  • Other ad-hoc projects as dictated by business needs.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education with APICS and/or IBF certification.
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in demand planning, forecasting and scheduling.
  • JDA experience is an asset.
  • Experience within a food processing environment – working knowledge of shelf life constraints, HACCP.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in supply chain concepts – safety stock planning, MRP calculations, scheduling constraints, bottlenecks, etc.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; effective presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence change and drive impact.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi task and work to deadlines
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office and applications; working knowledge of ERP and WMS systems.

Corporate QA Manager

Job Scope:

Reporting to the Director, Corporate QA, this position will provide support to the Quality Control, Operations and other departments, in all matters relating to Foods Safety and Quality Systems. The incumbent will hold the titles of Corporate SQF Practitioner and Corporate HACCP Coordinator, and will be responsible of leading the development, implementation, maintenance, and improvement of the Food Safety and Quality Systems across the Gay Lea facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist and support Quality Control, Operations and other departments for Food Safety and Quality Systems.
  • Provides guidance, explanation and direction for scheduled and unscheduled reviews of the Food Safety System (HACCP Plan and Pre-requisite Programs).
  • Assist the plants in preparing and concluding customer, governmental and third party audits, by inspecting facilities, conducting preparation, opening, and closing meetings, and communicating results.
  • Provide on-site assistance during the audits conducted by governmental agencies, with respect to Food Safety and Quality, or customer / third party agencies.
  • Provides guidance and direction to plant and QC personnel in developing corrective action plans.
  • Implementation of all aspects of the Quality Systems and Food Safety Systems at the plants.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor in Food Science, or any related discipline such as Microbiology, Chemistry, and Biotechnology.
  • SQF Practitioner certificate
  • Formal HACCP training from a recognized training facility.
  • A minimum of 3 years in a Quality Management or Middle Management position in a Quality Control or testing environment is required.
